 Christmas time creations!

Dinner time inspirations - broccoli and potatoes.

The Martha Mason painting "Path" that now graces our home!!!!
So excited. Picked it up today and it inspires me SO much.
Martha was my mentor and college professor. She set me free, in regards to the way I approached
art and the process of creating.

Artist Prompts.

Lindsay had the most brilliant idea when thinking about ways to get inspired - Artist Prompts.

Just a couple of the one's I have come up with and plan on doing:
* Create a page that is all about your childhood and things that inspired you or collections you had when you were young (marbles, barbies, stickers, stones, etc.)
* Find an object in your fridge to sketch
* Find objects in nature and create a design - take a picture or sketch your creation

I plan on doing LOTS more of these, they are SO much fun.
Can't wait for Spring time and all the color that comes along with it!

* Go to a gallery and sketch a piece that inspires you
* Use typography in a unique way
* Trace an object and make a pattern with it

We would ♥ your input of creative and unique artist prompts for us to try!

Moon Beam Baby

Cards, cards, cards. This is the sketch and color palette for my "Moon Beam Baby" card. I designed a "Baby on Board" invitation (http://www.kandyceking.com/Site/Design_Projects/) for a girlfriend's baby shower and am hoping to get a similar look for this one.

Here's the start, look for a COMPLETED card in the next two weeks!

creative adventures

Last Friday nite with kandyce Rob and I.

Cafe...ART...Drawing....
While Kandyce was visiting we were able to do a couple creative adventures.  Well all our adventures I consider to be fun and creative.  The snowflakes you see above were last Friday nite when we decided to get into the holiday spirit.  Mine turned out ridiculous probably because I haven't made a snowflake in years.

The collage of photo's is an artist date.  I am reading, "The Artist Date."  Any how I have to do an artist date each week.  This last week included Kandyce and I taking sketch books and drawing pencils to La Boulange Bakery where we enjoyed a hot drink and a treat.  It was a fabulous date...

I am off...Kimberly

All in a day's work.

Just a little sneak peek of today's progress for Wheatland Village.

Also, some tips on what to do if a client wants a logo or their identity to be prominent and
you don't want the logo to take over the design -

1. What are the logo specifications? Can you break it apart and enlarge pieces of it to create a more artistic element?

2. Enlarge their tag line or mission statement, and SHRINK the logo.

3. Your comments can be added to the list - what do you all think?

scarf making

snood project

while watching an old movie called, Pillow talk I got a lot done.
I started this last night and hope to have it finished soon so I can wear it.  It's called a snood because it's those scarfs that look like a tube that you just put over your head.  Here is an example of one I found below...(Mine won't look this good I'm sure.)

Ok. So This blog started I think about 3 years ago perhaps 4 years ago and it's been on a pause for awhile.  It's TIME!!!! to start creating again and sharing our creative inpisrations.  We are going to share each week different pieces that inspire each of us.  There are three of us.  Kandyce King. Lindsay Buller. and Kimberly Merritt.  We are so excited to start posting whatever might be inspring us at the time and also posting projects that come from these inspirations.  We can't wait to share them with you!!!

Happy Wednesday to you!!!
